Lavenders is located in the semi rural village of
Tiptoe and surrounded by fields.
We are situated just 150 yards from the open forest
and are an ideal base for exploring the New Forest. Tiptoe lies between
Lymington - well known for its marina, lively pubs and restaurants
and Brockenhurst with its tea rooms and inns. A little further a field
are Lyndhurst and Burley with their many gift shops and tea rooms
- including the famous Coven of Witches at Burley. A stay at Lavenders
truly gives guests the best of both worlds by being very close to
the many lively villages, marinas and towns in the area as well as
offering the serenity of the quieter villages and the Forest. We are
also just 15 minutes drive away from the sea with some wonderful sandy
beaches.
Originally known as Hillside - Tracey and Richard
bought the property in January 2004. Hillside was a very modest property
but has now been sympathetically renovated and extended and is now
an impressive property which has been finished to a very high standard.
Tracey was brought up in London - Lavender Hill in fact - and so the
property was aptly renamed Lavenders!
The 'Lavenders' mob has gradually grown over the
years and now consists of three very friendly dogs - Rio, a 10 year
old Staffordshire bull terrier x whippet and two Rottweilers - Roxy,
who is 4 and Lottie, who is 3. Also, two equally friendly horses -
Mouse, a 7 year old IDX mare and Reds, a 22 year old Thoroughbred
gelding - who are sometimes to be found grazing in the garden and
are always on the 'look out' for carrots and apples.

Our immediate surroundings are predominately rural with many working
farms as well as comprising a huge equestrian community. In fact,
we would say there are more horses in Tiptoe than people! There is
plenty of walking and cycling, for the more energetic guests and Lavenders
can hire cycles (all supplied with locks, lights and maps) to guests
to use for a small fee.
Guests can start walking or cycling the many forest
trails within a couple of minutes of leaving the front door. Why not
take a picnic and stop on the way in one of the inclosures or even
try one of the many pub trails - always a good way to end a day exploring
the Forest!
Around the property (both inside and out)
there are many 'lavender' items and the collection is always growing.
There is a prize to any guests who can either guess or count the items
correctly.
